Job description

Natural Resources All Families Foundation has been a pillar in the San Francisco parenting community for over 38 years—providing community, education, and support for new families and children, from conception through early childhood. We are a safe haven where individuals can find camaraderie and care in one of the most sensitive times in their life. In a world where polarized takes make parenting choices feel increasingly scrutinized, a safe community space with real life access to full-spectrum information is more valuable than ever. Each family deserves access to unbiased, expert information and community support to give their children the strongest possible start in life.

We offer workshops, classes, special events, and community groups facilitated by trusted experts that provide a breadth of perinatal and early childhood education. From childbirth prep and infant safety to new parent and early childhood development groups, families join us every day to learn, laugh, cry, and strengthen their community bonds.

About the Role

We are looking for an Executive Director to lead the organization into this exciting new phase of growth and development. We are looking for someone with fundraising (or strong marketing) experience, as well as experience developing and managing a strategic vision with a budget and tactical operational plan to support it. We are also looking for a warm, confident leader who can nurture and grow our internal and external communities for years to come. Nonprofit experience is not necessarily required, but a passion for our mission and community are.

This is a full-time role that requires a strong people leader who can build and manage a high-performing team, drive sustainable revenue through fundraising, and deliver a clear strategic vision. We are seeking a leader who will partner closely with the Board, staff, donors, and community stakeholders to ensure long-term sustainability and increased impact. The right candidate will bring structure, accountability, and strong operational discipline while also serving as a compelling external voice for the organization.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Team

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team
  • Set clear priorities, accountability, and performance standards
  • Address underperformance directly and foster a culture of ownership

Strategy, Planning, and Execution

  • Own and deliver the annual strategic and operating plan with clear goals and metrics
  • Translate strategy into actionable plans and ensure consistent execution
  • Track progress, drive alignment, and adjust as needed

Fundraising and External Relations

  • Lead fundraising strategy and execution across donors, grants, and partnerships
  • Build strong relationships with donors, partners, and the broader community
  • Serve as a compelling spokesperson and storyteller for the organization

Financial and Operational Management

  • Own the annual budget and ensure strong fiscal discipline
  • Align resources to strategic priorities and monitor performance
  • Build systems and processes that drive execution and accountability

Board Engagement and Governance

  • Maintain clear, proactive communication with the Board
  • Provide visibility into strategy, financial performance, and risks
  • Partner with the Board on fundraising and key decisions

Decision-Making and Organizational Leadership

  • Make timely, well-informed decisions with clear ownership
  • Lead organizational change and evolve structure and priorities as needed
Qualifications
  • 5-10+ years of experience, ideally in a mission-driven organization
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing internal teams and external partners
  • Proven people leadership experience, including managing and developing teams
  • Strong track record in fundraising and donor relationship management
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and experience managing budgets
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute and drive results
  • Excellent communicator with strong storytelling skills
Preferred Skills
  • Exposure to education, or community-based programming
  • Familiarity with the pre- and postnatal ecosystem, including providers and services
  • Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors
Compensation

This role offers a salary range of $140,000, reflecting the seniority and scope of the position. Natural Resources All Families Foundation is committed to equitable compensation and offers a supportive, mission-driven work environment.
