The Office of the Governor is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Executive Director to oversee both the operations and events of the Governor's Mansion. The Executive Director of the North Carolina Governor’s Mansion provides executive leadership and operational oversight for the Governor’s Mansion, staff, programs, events, and public-facing activities. The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring that the Mansion operates with the highest standards of hospitality, professionalism, discretion, security awareness, historic preservation and fiscal stewardship. Serving as a key member of the Governor’s Operations Team, the Executive Director works closely with the Governor, First Family, senior leadership team, state agencies, legislators, community leaders, donors, and other stakeholders. The position requires exceptional judgment, diplomacy, organizational leadership, and the ability to manage sensitive and high-profile matters with confidentiality and professionalism. The Executive Director oversees the Mansion as both a private residence and an important symbol of the State, ensuring that its historic character, public responsibilities, and ceremonial functions are maintained to the highest standards.
Typical work schedule is 40 hours a week, which will include evening events. The schedule will vary – some weeks may follow typical office hours; others may include evening events with more flexibility during the day.

Recruitment Range: $60,881.00 - $106,544.00
Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution AND Five (5) years of experience related to the area of assignment OR An equivalent combination of training and experience
