Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) seeks an Executive Director to oversee the Governor’s Mansion operations, staff, programs and events, ensuring hospitality, discretion, security awareness, preservation and fiscal stewardship.

You will serve on the Governor’s Operations Team, advise on protocol and events, manage budgets and contracts, and coordinate with state agencies, legislators and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day executive oversight of Mansion operations.
  • Establish and maintain policies, procedures, standards, and protocols for Mansion operations and events.
  • Serve as the principal administrative liaison among the Governor’s Office, Mansion staff, state agencies, contractors, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  • Advising the Governor and First Family on Mansion operations, hospitality, events, protocol, and related matters.
  • Exercising sound judgment in handling confidential, sensitive, and time-critical matters.
  • Developing and managing operating budgets, expenditures, contracts, purchasing, and financial controls.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable state laws, policies, regulations, and administrative requirements.
