Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Norfolk, VA, seeks an Executive Director to lead the community, oversee planning and policy execution, marketing for occupancy, and staff hiring/training. You will ensure resident satisfaction, care coordination, and compliance with state regulations, while driving the overall business plan execution.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Meets all current requirements of the State Department of Social Services Standards and Regulations for Licensed Assisted Living Facilities.
• Two years' post-secondary education required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years' experience in a supervisory role in senior housing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Warm, outgoing, and compassionate personality.
• Integrity, maturity and leadership skills.
• Understanding of State Department of Social Services Standards and Regulations.
• Acceptable driving record (required driver).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the general well-being and health of residents in the community.
• Coordinate care and services to residents; oversee nursing and care staff.
• Ensure community reflects the company's core values and maintains a positive image.
• Ensure staff are properly allocated; recruit and coach top performers.
• Oversee all licensing paperwork and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in direct marketing for residents, services, and staff recruitment.
• Act as the responsible party before, during, and after licensing inspections.
• Drive a company vehicle as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Pay Range: $100,000-$125,000 per year.

The Executive Director is the CEO of the community. He or she oversees the planning, direction and implementation of all programs and policies of the community, and ensures the efficient and effective administration and execution of the company business plan. The Executive Director is responsible for marketing and public relations activities to maintain occupancy goals, including the evaluation and admission process. He or she also ensures resident satisfaction and achievement of realistic care plan goals, including the coordination of all resident service activities; also responsible for hiring, training and scheduling community staff. The Executive Director ensures the community operates in substantial compliance at all times.
