Job summary

Social Capital Initiatives seeks an Executive Director to lead fundraising, strategy, and expansion to scale impact for women, girls, and families. You will work closely with the Founder and Board to drive capital growth, partnerships, and global program delivery from its New York base.

The role requires building a diverse team, strengthening governance, and expanding operations to sustain long-term impact in multiple regions. Hybrid work in the New York area is expected.

To achieve this vision, Social Capital Initiatives is seeking a dynamic and visionary executive who can work with its Founder and the Board to scale the organization into its next stage of growth.

Position Overview

The ExecutiveDirector will drive the next chapter of Social Capital Initiatives’ growth and strategy, leading fundraising and partnerships. The Executive Director will be responsible for shaping and adapting the organization as it grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Fundraising & Resource Development: Drive transformational growth in fundraising by cultivating and diversifying major donors, corporate partnerships, foundations, and government funding sources. Set and deliver ambitious, board-approved fundraising goals.
• Strategy & Vision: Lead Social Capital Initiatives’ strategic refresh, setting transformational yet achievable goals with clear metrics for scaling its impact globally.
• Partnerships & External Engagement: Strengthen existing partnerships and establish new collaborations to expand the use of SoCCs, Cascades of Learning, and other Social Capital Initiatives programs, increasing visibility and learning across communities.
• Board & Stakeholder Relations: Develop and maintain constructive relationships with the Board of Directors, Board of Advisors, Junior Board, donors, partners, and community stakeholders.
• Organizational Leadership: Build, manage, and scale a global team aligned with Social Capital Initiatives mission and growth trajectory.
• Operational & Financial Stewardship: Partnering with the Founder, strengthen Social Capital Initiatives’ infrastructure, systems, and resources to support growth and long-term sustainability and success

Qualifications & Experience

• Fundraising expertise, with established connections in the philanthropic community and demonstrated success with major donors, corporations, foundations, and government agencies. Knowledge of the corporate donor ecosystem in India is an added plus.
• Deep demonstrated commitment to community-led development and empowerment, and the ability to represent the organization credibly with the communities it serves. Experience working with women and their families to help build social capital is highly valued.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with progressive growth in nonprofit or for-profit organizations.
• Proven track record scaling an organization, expanding programs, and strengthening operations to achieve greater impact.
• Experience working effectively with a Board of Directors.
• Strong financial and operational management skills.
• Experience leading, empowering, and retaining diverse and global teams.
• Public speaking excellence and the ability to inspire and persuade across small and large audiences.
• Demonstrated commitment to international development and community empowerment; experience living or working in emerging markets is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial approach to growth, sustainability, and innovation—balancing mission focus with business discipline.

Compensation

$150,000-160,000

Location / Work Arrangement

The Executive Director will be based in or travel frequently to the New York metropolitan area, with a flexible hybrid work arrangement, including in-person workdays and meetings. The role requires occasional domestic and international travel.
