Job summary

District 6 Human Resources Development Council in Central Montana seeks an Executive Director/CEO to lead the organization, oversee programs, manage staff, and partner with the Board and community partners to improve lives.

You will steward financial resources, drive planning and policy development, and build collaborations with local government and nonprofits while maintaining a strong commitment to serving low-income individuals and families.

Qualifications

  • A 4-year bachelor’s degree in a related field of study (and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.)
  • 5-years of successful work experience in human services / social services.
  • 3 years' experience in management/administration; nonprofit budget preparation/monitoring preferred.
  • Broad-based computer skills: data entry, word processing, spreadsheets, web-based programs and email.
  • Valid Montana driver’s license and insurability for organization vehicle policy.

District 6 Human Resources Development Council is seeking a mission-driven Executive Director / CEO to lead our organization in serving individuals, families, and communities across Central Montana. As Executive Director, you’ll have the opportunity to lead a dedicated team, work with our Board of Directors and community partners, oversee a variety of programs and services, and help shape the future of District 6 HRDC.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education):
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
  • A 4-year bachelor's degree in an industry related field of study (and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.)
  • 5-years of successful work experience based in human services / social services role.
  • 3 years' experience in a role performing management and administration functions; a non-profit organization budget preparation and monitoring experience is highly preferred.
  • Broad-based computer skills, including but not limited to: data entry, use of word processing and spreadsheet software, use of web-based programs and email
  • Valid Montana driver's license, proof of personal vehicle insurance, ability to meet insurability requirements for the organization automobile insurance policy
Required Skills and Other Leadership Related Competencies:
  • Ability to speak in front of small (2-4) and large (25-150) groups of people
  • Understanding of and ability to interpret and apply local, state, and federal guidelines for agency programs
  • Working knowledge of public and private funding opportunities
  • Ability to solve problems and to promote a solution-oriented atmosphere
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a variety of team settings, both at state and local levels
  • Ability to understand and interpret statistical information
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written and interpersonal
  • Ability to plan strategically and adapt to changing financial and political scenarios
  • Ability to plan, develop and execute programs to meet the changing needs of low-income people
  • Interest and experience in working with or willingness to work with people of low income
