Job summary

The Autism Society of Indiana is seeking an Executive Director to serve as the chief executive officer, leading all operations, personnel, fundraising, and public policy initiatives. The role focuses on strategic growth, advocacy, and statewide impact within the ASD community.

The successful candidate will expand Medicaid waiver service lines, foster strong community connections, and collaborate with the Autism Society of America affiliate network to drive statewide policy and program

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, social work, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5–7 years in a senior executive role within a nonprofit or healthcare entity.
• Extensive familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and developmental disability landscapes.
• Deep understanding of Indiana Medicaid waivers and HCBS frameworks.

• NetworkIntegration:Collaboratewithnationalaffiliatestodeployunifiedautismsupportmodels.
• ComplianceOversight:Guaranteeallprogramsfulfilllocal,state,andfederalregulatorystatutes.

Operational&FinancialManagement

• FiscalAccountability:Directtheannualbudgetingprocess,revenueprojections,and financial audits.
• MedicaidServiceAdministration:OverseeRespiteandParticipantAssistance&Care (PAC) waiver services.
• PerformanceEvaluation:Revieworganizationalefficacytooptimizedailyworkflowsand data entry metrics.

Advocacy&PublicRelations

• CoalitionEngagement:RepresentASIwithinthelegislativeIndianaDisabilityAlliance.
• MediaRepresentation:Actastheprimaryspokespersonforpressinquiriesand awareness campaigns.
• LegislativeLobbying:Advancestatepoliciesprotectinghomeandcommunity-based service (HCBS) funding.

Fundraising&CommunityDevelopment

• DonorCultivation:Securecorporatesponsorships,foundationgrants,andindividual major gifts.
• EventStrategy:Provideexecutiveoversightforsignaturestatewidefundraisingand awareness events.

TeamDevelopment&Culture

• StaffSupervision:Mentorexecutivestaff,areamanagers,anddirectcarepersonnel.
• TalentManagement:Overseeproactiverecruitment,training,andprofessional development programs.

• RequiredEducation&Experience
• DegreeRequirements:Bachelor’sdegreeinNonprofitManagement,Business,Social Work, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
