Job summary

UAH College of Business seeks an Executive Communications Specialist to partner with the President and the Office of Marketing and Communications to plan, develop, maintain, and execute executive marketing and communications activities. You will write remarks, curate content for Instagram, coordinate messaging, and lead the President’s annual address and related video series.

A Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years in marketing/communications, with executive exposure, are required; a Master’s degree

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
• 5-7 years of full-time verifiable professional work experience in marketing or communications, including social media platforms and event planning.
• Experience working with executives is required.
• Project management experience, organization, verbal, and writing skills are required.
• Must have a demonstrated ability to manage projects and resources effectively and set priorities in a collaborative and service-oriented culture.
• Master's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Office of the President to plan, develop, maintain, and execute the marketing and communications strategy for the executive.
• Write, proofread, and edit remarks, talking points, speeches, backgrounders, press release quotes, and other products for the executive’s use.
• Curate the social media page (Instagram) for the Office of the President and collaborate with OMC on content across platforms.
• Compile themes and messaging documents for the Office of the President’s use.
• Create the Presidential Pop-Up event plan and schedule.
• Write the routine LinkedIn newsletter with the perspectives from the Office of the President.
• Develop a video series featuring the President interviewing individuals and clubs on campus to educate on topics.
• Lead creation of the President’s annual address to the Board of Trustees, Institutional Meeting, and Presidential Advisory Committee.
• Attend weekly appearances coordination meetings.
• Coordinate with OMC on President activities for digital and print publications.
• Continuously evaluate and revise communications for effectiveness.
