Job summary

NK Consultancy LLC is partnering with a rural Minnesota hospital to recruit a Chief Medical Officer. This executive role has no direct patient care and offers flexible scheduling with onsite 1–2 days per week and a substantial remote footprint.

You will lead clinical practice, support clinic and ER providers, and guide the hospital’s move into regional value-based care networks, shaping strategy at the executive level.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required and Minnesota medical license (or eligibility)
• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine or other recognized specialty
• Demonstrated clinical leadership and collaborative style with physicians, APPs, staff and administration
• Knowledge of quality improvement, patient safety, care coordination, and evidence-based care
• Understanding of value-based care, population health, and evolving delivery models

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between medical staff, executive leadership, and Board on clinical matters
• Support and lead clinic and ER providers, fostering a high-trust team culture
• Establish consistent standards of care and reduce unnecessary clinical variation
• Oversee quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Partner with the executive team on business development and strategic initiatives
• Guide the hospital through its transition into a regional clinically integrated network
• Mentor current physicians and APPs and develop future physician leaders
• Support provider recruitment, onboarding, and retention
• Collaborate on regulatory, accreditation, and compliance requirements
