Job summary

Safe Harbor Recovery Center is seeking a Clinical Director for Substance Use Disorders in Portsmouth, VA. LPC/LCSW/LMFT/LSATP credentials required, with extensive addiction-treatment leadership experience.

You will supervise clinical staff, oversee treatment planning and program development, and ensure safe, evidence-based care aligned with regulatory standards. Onsite role with a focus on quality outcomes and team development.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an accredited school in clinical, psychology or social service related field.
• Five or more years’ experience in addiction treatment with individuals with SUD and/or co‑occurring disorders.
• Two years’ supervisory experience in 24/7 inpatient/outpatient settings preferred.
• Licensure and ongoing credentials support independent practice and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Plan, oversee and improve clinical programming and unit schedules.
• Monitor quality, efficacy, and regulatory compliance of clinical services.
• Provide clinical supervision to staff and ensure treatment plans are implemented.
• Lead psychosocial assessments, group work, family therapies and discharge planning.
• Coordinate with leadership on program development and community referrals.
• Manage staffing, scheduling and performance evaluation to meet department goals.
