Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Chief Compliance Officer to lead Ethics, Privacy, and Internal Audit Compliance across NGHS hospitals. You will implement policies, coordinate education, and champion enterprise-wide compliance initiatives as a key member of the senior leadership team.

Ideal candidates have 8–10 years in healthcare compliance leadership, a Master’s or JD, and strong skills in communication, leadership, and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field required; or Law degree; experience with electronic health information systems.
• Experience with health information confidentiality management.
• 8–10 years of compliance, legal, financial and/or audit leadership in healthcare.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Stark and Anti-Kickback statutes.

Responsibilities

• Implement, supervise, and promote compliance with the Code of Conduct and policies throughout the enterprise.
• Oversee the Corporate Integrity Agreement with the CEO.
• Assess educational needs of employees and direct development of instructional programs.
• Develop goals and quarterly reports for the Compliance Oversight Committee and the Board.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of corrective measures for compliance issues.
• Oversee the Compliance Hotline and investigations, coordinating with legal and other departments.
• Conduct and/or supervise coding/billing and other audits as appropriate.
• Prepare annual budget for operating and capital expenses.
• Develop and implement a risk assessment program.
• Design and implement a comprehensive compliance program covering HIPAA, Stark, and Anti-Kickback.
• Collaborate with HR, Legal, Medical Staff, and others to enforce privacy policies across the system.
• Manage business associate contracts to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Advise on current privacy and security legislation and related self-regulatory initiatives.
