Position Title: EXECUTIVE CHEF II - K12 FOOD SERVICE POTENTIAL NEW BUSINESS - MUSKOGEE, OK

Job Summary

As the Executive Chef, you will oversee kitchen operations, ensure a safe and sanitary work environment, and prepare or direct meal preparation in accordance with Chartwells K-12 programs and the National School Lunch Program. This role is ideal for an energetic, entrepreneurial culinary professional.

This position is for a potential new food service account at a public K-12 school district in Muskogee, OK.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines.
2. Follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards. Complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste logs. Taste meals to ensure quality.
3. Train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, food safety, and sanitation based on company and regulatory standards.
4. Establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas, ensuring compliance by staff.
5. Maintain inventory of food and supplies within guidelines, ensuring necessary products are available.
6. Decide on the utilization of leftover food products within company guidelines.
7. Comply with health and sanitation regulations and participate in audits.
8. Follow safety policies and procedures, including incident reporting.
9. Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and professional programs as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A.S. or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal education or training.
• Extensive catering experience is a plus.
• Experience in high-volume, complex food service operations is highly desirable.
• Institutional and batch cooking experience.
• Hands-on chef experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, email, and internet.
• ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
