Job Summary

The Director of Dining Services is an exciting leadership role for a dynamic, entrepreneurial manager eager to improve business operations. This key position oversees the successful operation of Dining Services for a potential new K12 food service account in Muskogee, OK. The Director ensures high client and customer satisfaction through efficient, cost-effective management that exceeds expectations. Responsibilities include all food service activities, such as school cafeterias, retail, and catering.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage salaried managers and hourly associates within the Food Service Department.
2. Oversee the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the account.
3. Conduct interviews, hire, and train staff; assign tasks; evaluate performance; recognize achievements; address issues; and resolve problems.
4. Prepare and manage the annual budget.
5. Utilize company systems for reporting on inventory, cash flow, production, payroll, and timekeeping.
6. Participate in food and beverage preparation and service, adhering to company standards for quality, presentation, sanitation, safety (meeting HACCP and OSHA standards), and portion control.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. Degree with four years of relevant experience per USDA guidelines.
• Five to seven years of direct food service management experience, including inventory and purchasing control.
• Strong knowledge of food and catering trends, quality standards, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
• Experience with P&L accountability or contract-managed services is desirable.
• Excellent supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to communicate effectively at management, client, customer, and staff levels.
• Financial, budgeting, accounting, and computational proficiency.
• Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Office, email, and internet.
• ServSafe Certification.
