Brookdale Senior Living in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Executive Chef (Finance) to lead daily kitchen operations, oversee breakfast, lunch and dinner, and ensure high quality meals for residents.

You will develop menus, standardize recipes, train and supervise kitchen staff, monitor sanitation, and manage inventory and budgeting to support meal programs. ServSafe certification and two to four years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from two year college or technical school.
• Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ServSafe Certification and any required licenses for food handling/sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Oversees breakfast, lunch and dinner for quality assurance of meal presentation and portion control.
• Selects recipes, prepares and coordinates all meals; coordinates prep for the following day's menu.
• Creates new dishes and develops recipes; standardizes recipes to ensure consistent quality; plans and develops menus.
• Performs pre-meal meetings with food servers to review daily menu details.
• Ensures adequate culinary staffing per shift and covers absences.
• Estimates food consumption and requisitions purchases; maintains inventory.
• Assists in budgeting for daily food costs and loss prevention procedures.
• Assists with hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of kitchen staff; coordinates special events.
• Maintains kitchen cleanliness and proper storage and handling of cleaning chemicals.
