Job summary

WesleyLife in Newton, IA is seeking an Executive Chef for Park Centre to lead fine dining culinary operations and oversee daily meal service. The role requires a minimum of five years of cooking experience in fine dining, with culinary education preferred, and experience in menu creation, purchasing, cost control, and large banquet production.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years cooking experience in a fine dining setting.
• Culinary education preferred or a combination of education and fine dining experience.
• Experience with menu creation, purchasing, cost control, and large function banquet production.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal service and determine food and supplies required for daily menus.
• Lead and collaborate with the CDM for operations and divisional opportunities and problems.
• Plan and execute all catered and special functions.
• Create all food purchases, production sheets, scheduling, and related materials.
• Monitor food quality and take corrective action to ensure standards are met.
• Follow infection control techniques and sanitary handling of food.
• Manage waste to avoid over/under production and improper handling of leftovers.
