Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 2 for our campus segment account at University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston Salem, NC. UNCSA is a unique public conservatory and arts school offering training in performing, visual, and moving image arts, and is the first public arts conservatory in the United States. Our Dining Services include a Main Dining hall serving 950 meals daily, WPB Starbucks Coffee Shop, Two C-Stores, Freshens, and a Ghost kitchen.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • University and/or fine dining culinary and culinary management experience
  • A culinary degree is preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience in training and leading culinary staff
  • Experience with online ordering and inventory management
  • Food and labor costing expertise
  • Menu creation and culinary catering experience
  • Willingness to travel weekly, including some overnights

The successful Chef will possess a culinary degree or equivalent experience, with diverse menu knowledge and a strong understanding of controlling food costs while maintaining high-quality cuisine. This hands-on role requires prior volume food production management experience. Sodexo provides food, nutrition, environmental, and facilities management solutions on college campuses, positively impacting student well-being and learning environments.

Driver's License Required.

  1. Manage purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis, and production forecasting
  2. Ensure adherence to Sodexo Culinary standards, including recipe compliance and food quality
  3. Develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations
  4. Maintain food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
  5. Utilize automated food inventory, ordering, production, and management systems

Qualifications & Requirements
