Job description

Position: Culinary Director

Direct and coordinate activities of the culinary department, lead the culinary team, and maintain established operational standards to maximize profits.

Primary Responsibilities :
  1. Ensure compliance with national programs such as Menu Program, Approved Product List, and Inventory procedures.
  2. Responsible for selection, development, and retention of talented culinary staff.
  3. Ensure financial targets are met, with proper accounting procedures and monthly reviews. Analyze and address any discrepancies.
  4. Observe and coach kitchen staff to ensure quality and timeliness. Review guest and member feedback and implement improvements.
  5. Engineer menu items to ensure quality and proper margins.
  6. Create and execute short-term and long-term operational and financial plans to improve quality and results.
  7. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and compliance with all laws.
  8. Create menus for events and daily features.
  9. Share successes and best practices with regional and executive leadership to enhance quality and financial outcomes.
  10. Maintain communication across departments regarding programs and events.
Qualifications :
  1. Previous experience in a Chef leadership role.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.
  3. Strong attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills.
  4. Experience supervising and leading a team.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working Conditions :

May require working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Certification and License Requirements :

Food service permit as required; ServSafe certification within 30 days of hire.
