Atrium Hospitality seeks a talented Executive Chef to lead the culinary team at the Kansas City Embassy Suites. This all-suite hotel offers 237 spacious rooms and 18,000 sq ft of meeting space, serving business travelers, conference guests, and leisure visitors. Located near Kansas City International Airport and downtown, with attractions like Zona Rosa, local barbecue, and cultural landmarks.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000

Primary Purpose: Oversee daily culinary operations, ensuring top-quality food for guests and events according to Atrium standards.

Work Performed:

  • Developing associates through training, evaluation, motivation, coaching, and counseling aligned with Atrium’s Core Values
  • Enhancing guest service standards by continuously improving products and services
  • Controlling labor costs with effective scheduling and cross-training
  • Managing culinary production methods for à la carte and catering functions
  • Achieving budgeted food costs through control measures like portioning, inventory management, and waste control
  • Creating menus to improve quality and consistency
  • Collaborating with food & beverage, sales, and event teams to meet culinary expectations
  • Enforcing health, safety, and cleanliness standards
  • Managing direct reports, employment practices, performance, and discipline
  • Following safety policies, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions
  • Supporting other departments as needed
  • Performing any additional tasks required

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years supervisory experience in hotel culinary operations
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation methods
  • Experience with computing discounts, profit/loss, ratios, and measurements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based applications

Preferred:

  • Certification as Executive Chef or culinary degree
  • Experience with Workday

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, 10 lbs regularly
