Job summary

THE ROOSEVELT AT SALT CREEK is seeking an Executive Chef to lead full-scope culinary operations in our community. This role focuses on hands-on production, maintaining high quality service and cleanliness, and supervising the culinary team in Elmhurst, IL.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years as a Chef/Kitchen Manager, a culinary degree, and state sanitation certification. Hospitality or senior living experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Chef/Kitchen Manager in a food service environment
  • One year of hospitality or senior living/housing industry preferred
  • One year of hospital/healthcare preferred
  • Must hold current state-required sanitation (Safe Food Handling and/or Certified Food Manager) certification/license per state requirements
  • Must possess current and valid driver’s license consistent with the requirements determined by size of vehicle and laws of the state in which the driver is licensed.
  • Must possess personal driving record consistent with the requirements of the Driver Selection Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Exemplify Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization.
  • Adhere to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times.
  • Produce and serve menu cycle programs that are compliant with required Nutritional/Dietary criteria as required by local regulations and correctly prepare diets provided per Policy and Procedure.
  • Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production.
  • Assist with serving of meals and ware washing as necessary.
  • Visit residents periodically to evaluate food service such as quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance; and conduct evaluations to make revisions in operations / procedures to promote improved food service.
  • Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner, which creates a positive marketing environment.
  • Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.
  • Support the Director of Food & Beverage on all management practices.

ENTER COMMUNITY NAME HERE is recruiting for a hospitality focused Executive Chef to join our team! This position is responsible for full-scope, hands on production cooking in the Community Culinary Services Department. Is responsible for maintaining a superior level of quality service and cleanliness at all times and supervising our team members in the Department.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Cook:
