Wingate Residences at Pleasant Bay in Massachusetts is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve meals according to the cycle menu. The Cook reports to the Dietary Manager and ensures proper food handling, cooking, meal service, and equipment cleaning.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of healthcare dietary experience. Strong verbal and written communication, numerical skills, and flexibility for emergencies are valued.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year food service experience in a healthcare dietary setting preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, and work assignments.
• Strong verbal and written communication with staff, residents, families, and the public.
• Ability to perform calculations for records and recipe preparation.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including emergencies; travel to other facilities if needed; travel reimbursed.

Job Purpose:

Prepares and serves meals according to cycle menu; monitors methods of food handling, preparation, meal service and equipment cleaning. The Cook reports directly to the Dietary Manager.

Position Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent education is preferred.
• Minimum one (1) year food service experience in a health care dietary setting is desired. Have general knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving.
• Verbal and writing abilities necessary to communicate and work effectively with various levels of staff, residents, family members and the public.
• Numerical ability necessary to make various computations in keeping work records, and in recipe preparation.
• Ability to read and understand and follows recipe directions, diet orders and work assignments.
• Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency situation. Must be patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and family
• Must be willing to assist at another facility for coverage or help during an emergency; travel will be reimbursed.
