Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking an Executive Catering Chef for Pittsburgh, PA. The role leads culinary operations for executive dining, VIP events, conferences, and large-scale catered functions, driving culinary excellence, guest experiences, and financial performance.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years of progressive culinary leadership in catering/hospitality, strong BEO understanding, and experience with hotels or large venues. ServSafe preferred; unionized settings experience a plus.

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience in culinary/kitchen management.
• Three to five years progressive kitchen management in catering/hospitality.
• Knowledge of food trends, cost controls, and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan regular and modified menus per guidelines.
• Train staff in food preparation, safety, and equipment use.
• Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for gear and areas.
• Manage inventory to stay within guidelines and ensure availability.
• Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, and regulatory standards.
• Lead high-volume production and VIP/fine-dining catering.
