Job summary

Lehman College's School of Education seeks an Associate Dean to provide leadership and manage the Dean’s Office, reporting to the Dean. The role serves on the senior management team and liaises with departments to advance strategic planning, accreditation, outreach and budget oversight.

The Associate Dean will oversee scheduling, personnel, academic matters, and participate in school and college committees, focusing on educator preparation and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Education or closely related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in higher education leadership.
• Evidence of leadership in accreditation; evidence of strong managerial, collegial and collaborative leadership.
• Experience managing multiple faculties, staff, and collaborating with academic researchers and teacher education clinical practice sites.
• At least 8 years of teaching undergraduate and graduate students, research experience.
• Excellent judgment, discretion, analytical ability, and attention to details.
• Strong record of scholarship, including writing, obtaining, and implementing grants.
• Strong strategic planning, program development, data-driven approach and assessment skills.
• Experience with grant procurement, supporting faculty growth, oversight of college-level programs and processes, marketing, and program development.

Responsibilities

• Co-lead and co-manage the school’s strategic planning process and share planning frameworks.
• Provide leadership for all accreditation activities and reporting.
• Supervise compliance and assessment coordination and continuous improvement efforts.
• Oversee curriculum change proposals and advise departments on development and revision.
• Serve on the school executive committee and co-chair policy and quality assurance groups.
• Collaborate on student success events and advisement activities.
• Assist the Dean with personnel matters and faculty development decisions.
• Develop partnerships with external agencies and institutions for programs and sponsorships.
• Coordinate outreach to admissions, marketing, and alumni affairs to support enrollment growth.
