About SonoThera

SonoThera is a venture-backed genetic medicine company advancing ultrasound-mediated, non-viral targeted therapies to unlock the full potential of genetic medicines. Our platform is designed to overcome key limitations in the field, enabling precise, redosable delivery across a broad range of diseases with high unmet need. Headquartered in South San Francisco, SonoThera brings together a world-class, interdisciplinary team focused on translating breakthrough science into transformative therapies.

The Role:

SonoThera is seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant to serve as a trusted right hand to the CEO and a critical partner in enabling executive effectiveness. This role is central to how the CEO operates day-to-day—owning time management with precision, orchestrating complex schedules and travel, and ensuring flawless execution across internal and external engagements, including board and investor interactions. The ideal candidate operates with exceptional judgment, discretion, and attention to detail. The Executive Assistant will be highly organized, proactive, collaborative and able to anticipate needs before they arise. The Executive Assistant must be able to seamlessly manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. This individual is calm under pressure, communicates with clarity and professionalism across all stakeholder teams, and takes pride in delivering work at an exceptionally high standard. The candidate is deeply reliable, solutions-oriented, and capable of representing the CEO and the company with polish and credibility.

What You Will Do:

  • Coordinate and execute domestic and international travel with precision, including detailed itineraries and seamless logistics
  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of meetings and events, including executive staff meetings, board meetings, investor interactions, and key internal forums
  • Anticipate needs and ensure the CEO and leadership team are well-prepared for all meetings and commitments
  • Track key action items and follow through to ensure timely execution across leadership priorities
  • Facilitate coordination across teams to support effective communication and execution
  • Provide high-impact administrative and operational support on special projects as needed
Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs, exercise sound judgment, and operate with a high degree of autonomy
  • Strong execution skills with the flexibility to adapt quickly in a dynamic, evolving environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail
  • High degree of discretion, integrity, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Resourceful, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Collaborative team player with a positive, polished, and professional presence
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience supporting board meetings and investor communications
  • Prior experience in a high-growth or venture-backed company
  • Notary Public certification
Benefits:
  • Access to a 24-hour onsite gym
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision
