Provides broad and complex executive level administrative support to the Chief Human Resources Officer of the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Acting as an extension of this office to facilitate and manage the human resources executive’s office in a manner that ensures and maintains positive, professional, effective and collaborative working relationships across the OSU enterprise and community. Delivers an extensive range of administrative, logistical and collaborative assistance while displaying confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.
The Executive Assistant to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of the Wexner Medical Center serves as a trusted partner to the CHRO and senior HR leadership team. The role also acts as a key liaison and representative of the office. This position supports the effective operation and professional presence of the CHRO’s office while exercising strong discretion and judgment with confidential, sensitive, and high-priority matters. Responsibilities include supporting the CHRO’s daily executive administrative needs; reviewing, processing, and prioritizing confidential information; and managing the CHRO’s complex calendar, appointments, meetings, and engagements. The role prepares and organizes daily materials to support effective time management. It also triages inquiries and concerns directed to the CHRO’s office, routes them appropriately, and communicates directives and critical information to senior executives, faculty, and staff. Additional responsibilities include preparing and reviewing agendas, organizing travel, itineraries, presentations, correspondence, letters, and memos. This role also reviews documents requiring the CHRO’s signature or response for alignment with current administrative policies, arranges travel, processes expense reimbursements, and coordinates special projects as assigned.
For Hire: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. Administrative experience in a hospital, executive suite, and/or supporting multiple leaders is desired; four years of senior administrative support experience including knowledge and experience in managing complex scheduling and impeccable attention to detail. This position will require a person with sound judgment and the ability to prioritize. This position requires the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions and recommend appropriate action.
Substantial prior experience working with or for a senior executive and interacting with senior executives, community leaders, donors, and other similar roles; substantial knowledge and experience in higher education and/or large health systems or other large, complex organizations; significant prior administrative support experience making travel arrangements, purchasing goods and services, and relevant administrative policies and procedures.
