Job summary

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection seeks an experienced administrative professional to support a Bureau within the Fish and Wildlife Program. The role centers on coordinating administrative tasks, ensuring accurate reports, claims and forms, and providing oversight to senior staff.

Preferred candidates bring five years' experience in government or business admin, plus a Bachelor's degree. A valid NJ driver's license may be required for certain duties within the program.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of professional experience in a business or government agency providing administrative support services and/or coordinating work activities.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and one (1) year of the above-mentioned professional experience.
  • All U.S. degrees and transcripts must be from an accredited college or university; foreign degrees must be evaluated for accreditation by closing date.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the head of a Bureau or Service in a state department, institution, or agency by performing and coordinating administrative support services; does other related work.
  • Will act as the main assistant to the Assistant Commissioner, regulatory officer and Government Rep providing oversite and verification of reports, claims, and forms; investigates administrative problems and recommends solutions.
