Job summary

City of Sacramento is seeking two Assistant City Managers to provide executive leadership across multiple departments and advance City priorities. These ACMs will partner with the City Manager, Mayor, and City Council to translate strategy into coordinated action and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Seven years or more of government senior management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in business or public administration required.
• Graduate degree preferred; substitution: three years of city department head experience may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight across assigned departments and executive leadership to translate City priorities into action.
• Collaborate with City Manager, Mayor, and City Council to align Citywide initiatives and ensure accountability.
• Lead cross-departmental initiatives and manage complex policy, fiscal, and organizational matters.
