Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business-related field required or equivalent experience.
  • Five years leadership/management in golf industry; executive-ops experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of PGA CMAA education and certifications preferred; PGA membership valued.

Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

Leads and engages in all phases of the executive search process - including business development, administration, candidate sourcing and recruitment, client communication, facilitating interviews, agreement assistance, gathering testimonials and follow up at 90-day and 180-day intervals to deliver high-quality results. Continuously improves PGA ExecuSearch in collaboration with Career Services leadership to advance core departmental objectives. Evaluates and refines operational procedures related to the Executive Search process. Build strong partnerships with Career Consultants and PGA Section staff, and allied Association leadership to raise awareness and drive utilization of ExecuSearch services and offerings. Proactively cultivates relationships with key stakeholders at private golf clubs, multi-facility golf operators, and national employers, advocating for the value and advantages of the PGA’s Executive Search solutions for management-level hiring. Champions PGA’s initiatives in facility staff development, board education, and advisory services, positioning the organization as a trusted resource in the industry. Designs and delivers educational programming under the PGA Career Services/ExecuSearch brand for PGA members, industry professionals, employers, and section staff, supporting ongoing professional growth and engagement within the golf industry. Attends and promotes the PGA of America and PGA Professionals at industry functions and trade shows as applicable. Collaborates and communicates with the Education Department on coursework offerings and revisions with a focus on sharing employer feedback. Promote effective communication and strategic alignment throughout all MSO initiatives, fostering outstanding career services and support, that enhances the lives and careers of PGA Members throughout their career life cycle, and elevates the value of PGA Members across golf industry employers.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for oversight of the ExecuSearch budget and for monitoring results.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) or equivalent in Business Administration, Human Resources, Professional Golf Management (preferably the Executive Management career path), or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Five years of experience as a Head Golf Professional, Director of Golf, General Manager or other golf industry management experience, or a combination thereof, is required. Five years’ team management experience. Extensive golf industry leadership experience with proven ability to develop industry relationships. Strong working knowledge of both PGA and CMAA education. Advanced PGA and CMAA certifications preferred. A PGA Member with a minimum of 5 years of PGA Membership is preferred.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Job Knowledge/Technology: Must have knowledge of the golf industry and/or golf facility operations, employment and/or recruiting. Knowledge of the PGA of America and Section operations are preferred. Must have knowledge of managing multiple priorities, in a multi-functional work environment. Demonstrated leadership skills and a proven ability to motivate and manage professionals to achieve results. Skilled in customer service and/or sales. Must have a thorough knowledge of administrative principles and procedures with the ability to lead various projects and programs. A knowledge of the organizational functions of a business operation. Must possess a high degree of trust and confidentiality. Basic fluency in artificial intelligence (AI) tools and concepts. This includes using AI to enhance business operations and drive innovation, enabling us to better serve our Members and stakeholders. Working knowledge of Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Docs. Leadership: Ability to lead and influence across the organization while successfully cultivating cross-functional teamwork. Change Management: Demonstrates support of innovation and can lead the development and implementation of new processes, metrics and organizational accountability. Communication: Effective written and oral communication and presentation skills that provide ability to interact with the most senior levels of the organization, as well as subordinates and peers. Convey information to all levels of the organization in a clear, focused and concise manner. Problem Solving/Analytical Thinking: Should have deep intellectual curiosity with a desire to understand complex problems and propose solutions. Must be able to see the big picture yet drill down into detail to find solutions. Can analyze business decisions and assess the financial and strategic impacts and communicate results in business terms. Collaboration and Teamwork: Work harmoniously with others to get a job done and put team goals above personal objectives. Has the ability to successfully gain cross-functional support and cooperation in improving processes and implementing initiatives.
