Job summary

PGA Golf Properties Inc. offers a hands-on internship supporting Championship operations, scoring, logistics, and volunteer management. You will assist with course setups, shipping, and on-site office coordination while gaining exposure to PGA Championship events and administrative workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational function/support in course preparations (marking, ropes, signage, leader boards).
  • Provide administrative support, computer scoring operations (Golf Genius), and communications for championships.
  • Assist with event shipping/receiving and setting up temporary championship offices.
  • Support volunteer operations and site breakdown after events.
  • Assist with unpacking/packing semi-trailers for events.
  • Support Championship Department staff as needed.

Job description

This position will offer exposure to the competition, operations, administration, and volunteer program at our various Championships.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
  • Provide operational function/support in course preparations, which may include but not limited to course marking, rope and stake installation, course signage, and on-course leader boards.
  • Provide administrative function/support, computer scoring operations (Golf Genius), and communication support for PGA Member, Spectator, and Amateur Championships as assigned.
  • Assist with all Championship event shipping and receiving.
  • Assist with organizing set-ups of temporary on-site Championship Offices.
  • Assist with Championship volunteer operations.
  • When the event is completed, assist the Championship Department Staff with the breakdown of the course, offices, volunteer headquarters, and other areas to be determined at site.
  • Assist with unpacking and packing the semi-trailers for events the intern is working on.
  • Assist Championship Department Staff elsewhere when needed.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Must be a rising Junior or above enrolled in a degree program or a recent college graduate.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Must have knowledge of business operations with an emphasis in administrative support, finance and/or operations.
  • Working knowledge of computer design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Working knowledge of Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Docs.
  • Basic fluency in artificial intelligence (AI) tools and concepts. This includes using AI to enhance business operations and drive innovation, enabling us to better serve our Members and stakeholders.

Golf background or strong interest in golf required.

Physical and Travel Requirements:
  • Ability to travel for extended periods in various modes of transportation, including overnight travel, at times in excess of 7 nights at a time (when at the event site), is required.
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends (sometimes up to 15 hours a day).
  • Ability to transport moderately heavy tournament equipment and supplies.
Events Scheduled to Work:
  • January 6 - February 20: Winter Championships - PGA Golf Club - Florida ~60 OT hours
  • March 1 - March 19: PGA Club Championship - Pinehurst - North Carolina ~40 OT hours
  • April 6 - April 11: SR PGA Championship - The Concession Golf Club - Florida ~60 OT hours
  • April 11 - May 1: PGA Professional Championship - Streamsong Resort - Florida ~60 OT hours
  • May 11 - May 24: PGA Championship - PGA Frisco, Fields Ranch - Texas ~70 OT hours

Hourly Rate:

$15.00 per hour

Length of Internship:

4 ½ months
