The Executive Housekeeper - Manager will manage the operation of the housekeeping and laundry divisions of the hotel to ensure that hotel guest rooms, public spaces, and other areas of the hotel are immaculately clean, organized, and sanitary. Ensures that the housekeeping department meets high standards of quality and efficiency so that guest satisfaction is optimized.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop housekeeping staff; conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Develop and implement systems for inspecting and managing the quality of housekeeping and laundry services; ensure timeliness and efficiency.
- Supervise work activities of housekeeping staff; distribute keys and work assignments.
- Ensure adherence to company quality standards by inspecting rooms, including deep cleans.
- Address guest complaints regarding housekeeping service or equipment and investigate complaints, taking corrective actions.
- Assist the General Manager in the selection of housekeeping personnel and assist management in assuring staff practices efficient procedures.
- Report maintenance repairs to maintenance staff and record repair information in the maintenance log.
- Complete follow‑ups on vacant and occupied rooms; assume functions of Housekeeper as necessary.
- Take control of lost and found items as appropriate.
- Oversee inspections of housekeeping/laundry activities to ensure procedures are followed and departmental productivity objectives are met.
- Conduct training classes on safety, security, department procedures, and service guidelines.
- Schedule staff work schedules and duties according to productivity standards and forecasted occupancy; monitor adherence to schedules.
- Prepare reports on room occupancy, payroll, department expenses, and inventories, and share data with appropriate department heads.
- Respond quickly to guest requests/complaints in a friendly manner; relay requests to appropriate subordinate or manager and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
- Establish and maintain a cost‑control system for linen and cleaning supplies inventories; oversee budgeting, ordering, and receiving supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Compile and report information on housekeeping activities and expenses; provide information to guest services on status of guest rooms for accurate reporting of availability.
- Display a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
- Follow company philosophies, policies, and procedures and effectively communicate them to subordinates.
- Fulfils Manager on Duty shifts.
- Ensure hotel compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage‑Hour, and Health laws.
