Job summary

Capital Medical Group seeks a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join the Primary Care team in Washington, DC. Work with physicians to provide comprehensive care, conduct patient assessments, and manage patient load in an outpatient clinic.

Requirements include 3+ years in outpatient family medicine, DC NP license, AANP/ANCC board certification, BLS, and DEA registration. Competitive base salary with annual bonus, CME reimbursement, and generous PTO are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have 3 years plus outpatient family medicine experience.
• Master’s degree in Nursing for NP.
• Current District of Columbia RN and NP license.
• Board certification by AANP or ANCC.
• BLS (AHA or Red Cross) to start.

Job description

Capital Medical Group is seeking a dedicated NP to join the Primary Care team. You will work closely with physicians to provide comprehensive care for patients with various primary care conditions. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, follow up appointments, as well as manage patient load.

Job Summary: Participates in team-focused patient care by means of patient examinations augmented by diagnostic and therapeutic evaluations/interventions in the outpatient clinic environment. The clinician functions under the regulatory mandate from their respective licensing organization, with department-specific credentialing from the institution.

What You'll Do:

1. Using medical decision-making skills to determine an appropriate patient care plan.
2. Collaborates with the medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
3. Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explains the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
4. Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
5. Potential for and encouraged to precept students and/or medical learners.
6. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements:

Must have 3 years plus Outpatient FM experience

• Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Master's degree or higher required
• Current District of Columbia Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license
• Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC
• Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to start.
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration, for prescription writing is required to start.
