Job summary

CNA, a National Accounts Property, Wholesale team, seeks an Excess & Surplus Underwriting Consultant to manage a complex book and act as a technical underwriting expert for ground-up monoline policies. This hybrid role works 4 days per week from local offices in California, Arizona, Colorado, or Texas.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Eight years of underwriting experience typically expected.
• Professional designations preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for complex risk discussions.

Responsibilities

• Manages and analyzes highly complex underwriting risks and pricing.
• Develops endorsement language for complex risks.
• Markets products through agencies and broker relationships within territory.
• Mentors less experienced underwriters and leads underwriting training.
• Reports to management on risk quality, profitability, and strategy.
