Job summary

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies seeks an experienced Excess & Surplus Lines Underwriter to join our team. The role supports surplus lines commercial property and casualty underwriting across Montana with proximity to our Gilbert, AZ Headquarters.

A strong background in underwriting, pricing and risk evaluation is required. Candidates should have bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in the field; ASLI or CPCU designations are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or extensive relevant excess and surplus lines underwriting experience.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial lines property and casualty products.
• ASLI or CPCU designations preferred.
• Carrier/background experience welcomed; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Solicit, underwrite and price new and renewal surplus lines commercial property and casualty business.
• Determine risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms and conditions.
• Develop, analyze and evaluate information and exposures for complex risks.
• Achieve production and loss ratio goals within the regional territory.
• Travel within assigned territory, may include some overnight stays.
• Mentor and train underwriters and underwriting assistants.
• Develop relationships with producers and reinsurers; research new products.
