Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or extensive excess and surplus underwriting experience.
• 5+ years of commercial lines property and casualty experience required.
• ASLI or CPCU designations preferred.
• Carrier, broker, or MGA background is a plus; Cincinnati provides training in Cincinnati, OH.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite excess and surplus lines with producers and underwriting assistants.
• Price risks, determine coverage terms, and assess risk acceptability.
• Analyze information and exposures for complex accounts.
• Achieve regional production and loss ratio goals.
• Travel within assigned territory, potentially overnight.
• Mentor and train underwriters and assistants; develop relationships with reinsurers.
• Research new products and coverage forms and coordinate reinsurance needs.
• Work with a high degree of independence and sound judgment.
