Position Title: Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher - Cognitively Impaired

Salary: DFT Salary Schedule ($55,000 - $94,000)
Reports to: Principal or Designee
Bargaining Unit: Detroit Federation of Teachers (DFT)

Telecommuting Eligibility: School-based. Not eligible for telecommuting
DPSCD will offer a $15,000 retention/recruitment certification bonus to existing and new educators in these areas for the 2025-2026 school year. Teachers who teach in one of the assignments below and hold an active endorsement for that assignment will be eligible:
The Teacher offers rigorous curriculum aligned with the State of Michigan Common Core guidelines while upholding the mission, vision and values of the Detroit Public Schools Community District. Collaborates with families and other staff members to ensure academic success of students. Evaluates and monitors students’ progress on a periodic basis.
Internal Applicants
