Job summary

Nash County Public Schools’ Englewood Elementary in Rocky Mount, NC, is seeking an Exceptional Education Teacher (Adaptive or General Curriculum) to provide special education services under IEPs. This role reports to the School Principal and works to implement instruction aligned with state requirements and developmental goals.

The position involves collaborating with the school team, maintaining compliance records, and delivering research-based, individualized instruction.

Qualifications

Four year degree from a college or university.
Major, or 24 semester hours, in subject area to be taught.
Passing score on Praxis II Test in subject area to be taught (Must have already passed Praxis II before being considered for employment in Elementary Education or Exceptional Education) Valid NC teaching license/certificate, or be able to obtain such

Responsibilities

Develops and implements instructional plan aligned with school and system-wide goals and the student’s IEP.
Employs various teaching techniques to help students meet IEP goals.
Develops annual IEP plans including present levels, needs, goals and required services.
Provides specialized instruction to address goals in each student’s IEP.
Assesses progress and adjusts instructional approaches as needed.
Coordinates delivery of services in each student’s IEP.
Maintains student records and reports as required by district and state policies.
