Job summary

Buncombe County Schools is seeking a Licensed EC/Exceptional Children Teacher to join Clyde A. Erwin High School. The role centers on advancing learning for students with special needs using district-approved curricula and individualized supports.

The teacher will document student progress, address diverse needs, and maintain a safe and engaging learning environment while collaborating with school staff. A Bachelor's degree and licensure are required, with Emergency/Residency license pathways

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Education or a related field.
• 2.7 GPA (undergraduate or postgraduate coursework).
• Official transcript documenting degree dated.
• Alternative licensed pathways with Emergency/Residency license options.

Position Purpose: Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to maximize the learning experience of students with special needs, in academics, interpersonal skills and activities of daily living by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes; addressing students' specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment. Minimum Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree ( click here for more info about Master's pay ) Alternative Licensed Pathways: If you are offered a position with BCS, our licensure specialist can share information on the 1-year Emergency License and later work with you to convert this to a Residency License.
Qualifications:

• 18 semester hours of relevant coursework
• 2.7 GPA (undergraduate coursework or post-graduate coursework)
• Ability to produce an official, degree dated transcript from an accredited university
