Job summary

Wayne County Public Schools located in North Carolina seeks an EC Bus Monitor for Spring Creek Middle to assist the driver with student safety, movement, and care during transportation.

A high school diploma is required and some experience with students, especially those who are physically handicapped, is preferred.

This ten-month, non-exempt position reports to the Principal and follows the Board's safety rules while maintaining order on the bus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience in working with students (experience with physically handicapped and/or related where applicable).
• Commitment to student safety and able to follow school district policies.

Responsibilities

• Follow all rules, policies and procedures of the Transportation Department.
• Maintain order on the bus and report discipline problems to proper staff.
• Ensure students are seated while the bus is in motion.
• Supervise loading and unloading of the bus and assist in safe crossing when needed.
