Job Summary:
This dual-role position supports EC students in grades 6–8 and high school students enrolled in virtual coursework. The role involves assisting in inclusive and resource settings for EC students and supervising high school students in online learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
EC Teacher Assistant (Grades 6–8):
- Provide academic, behavioral, and organizational support to middle school students with disabilities
- Assist with implementing IEP goals and classroom accommodations
- Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce content and skills
- Monitor student behavior and assist with positive behavior interventions
- Support students in developing self-advocacy and executive functioning skills
- Help prepare instructional materials and support classroom organization
- Supervise students during transitions and non-classroom settings
- Maintain confidentiality and documentation related to EC services
- Participate in EC-related professional development
High School Online Facilitator Assistant (Grades 9-12):
- Supervise and assist high school students working on virtual courses
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of attendance and participation
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues and support students in navigating learning platforms
- Manage distribution of student parking passes and ensure compliance with policies
- Communicate concerns or updates to the Online Learning Coordinator and staff
- Support a focused, structured online learning environment
Qualifications:
- Experience working with middle and high school students preferred
- Knowledge of special education practices and online learning tools is helpful
- Strong communication, organization, and behavior management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff
