Job Summary:
This dual-role position serves as an EC Teacher Assistant for grades 6–8 and an Online Facilitator Assistant for high school students. The assistant supports EC students in both inclusive and resource settings and supervises high school students enrolled in virtual coursework.
Key Responsibilities:
EC Teacher Assistant (Grades 6–8):
- Provide academic, behavioral, and organizational support to middle school students with disabilities
- Assist with the implementation of IEP goals and classroom accommodations
- Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce content and skills
- Monitor student behavior and assist with positive behavior interventions
- Support students in developing self-advocacy and executive functioning skills
- Help prepare instructional materials and support classroom organization
- Supervise students during transitions and non-classroom settings
- Maintain confidentiality and documentation related to EC services
- Participate in EC-related professional development
High School Online Facilitator Assistant (Grades 9-12):
- Supervise and assist high school students working on virtual public school or college courses
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records/logs of attendance and participation
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues and support students in navigating learning platforms
- Manage the distribution of student parking passes and ensure compliance with parking and on-campus driving policies
- Communicate concerns or updates to the Online Learning Coordinator and school staff
- Support a focused, structured learning environment in the online lab or assigned space
Qualifications:
- Experience working with students in middle and high school settings preferred
- Knowledge of special education practices and online learning tools is helpful
- Strong communication, organization, and behavior management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teachers and administrators
