Job description

STARS Charter Schoolis a K–8 public charter school serving students in Moore County, North Carolina. We are seeking a dedicated Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher who values strong relationships, clear structure, and high expectations while supporting students with diverse learning needs.

The EC Teacher at STARS works collaboratively with general education teachers, service providers, and families to ensure students receive appropriate supports and access to high-quality instruction. We believe effective EC services balance compliance, instructional skill, and a deep commitment to understanding each child as an individual.

This position serves students across grades 5–8. Assignment and caseload will be determined based on licensure, student needs, and school structure.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities in alignment with IEPs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and differentiated instruction
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal requirements
