FOKIS Mechanical seeks an experienced Excavator Operator for underground and site utility projects in Florida. The role requires operating excavators up to 25,000 lbs, reading site plans, and maintaining safe work practices on commercial construction sites.

You will perform trenching, grading, backfilling, and material handling, while coordinating with field crews and supervisors to ensure efficiency and safety on every project. OSHA compliance and daily equipment checks are essential.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of excavator operating experience.
• Certified in the operation and maintenance of excavators 25,000 lbs. or less.
• Training and experience in Trenching and Excavation Safety.
• Strong understanding of underground utility work and excavation practices.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate excavators up to 25,000 lbs. on commercial construction sites.
• Perform trenching, excavation, grading, backfilling, and material handling.
• Read and understand site plans, utility layouts, and grade requirements.
• Excavate around existing underground utilities while maintaining safe work practices.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any mechanical concerns.
• Work closely with field supervisors and crews to complete projects efficiently.
• Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and excavation best practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
