Job summary

Allan Myers is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our Mainline Pipe Crew or Mass Excavation Crew on heavy civil construction projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. The ideal candidate has at least three years of excavator experience, a valid driver's license (CDL a plus), and a commitment to safe, efficient site operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating excavators in heavy civil construction (water mains, sewer, or similar).
• Experience with mainline pipe installation or mass excavation preferred.
• Ability to work with GPS machine control systems is a plus.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic excavators (e.g., Cat 330, 336, 349, or similar) for digging, trenching, and grading.
• Excavate for utility installation, including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
• Perform bulk earthmoving, slope work, and grading on large projects.
• Read and interpret plans, grade stakes, and laser levels.
• Ensure safe, efficient operation following safety standards.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues.
• Collaborate with crew members, site supervisors, and project managers.
