Mission

Reeves Construction Company is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator for a Pipe Crew based in Brunswick, GA. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety and demonstrate excellence in safety practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Possess basic knowledge of machine mechanics and hydraulics.
• Conduct equipment inspections (lights, brakes, fuel, oil, water).
• Maintain equipment through servicing, lubrication, and housekeeping.
• Understand control levers for bucket movement.
• Prioritize safety and welfare during trench pipelaying operations.
• Have basic knowledge of soil types.
• Operate vehicles safely on job sites following company policies.

Qualifications, Education, and Competencies

Qualifications: Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations can be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; 1-3 months related experience or training, or equivalent.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety and operation manuals; write routine reports.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands: Climb onto machinery, operate equipment for hours, withstand vibration/noise, perform manual tasks, lift up to 60 pounds, and possess good vision and hearing.

Work Environment: Exposure to moving parts, weather conditions, fumes, noise, and occasional hazardous conditions. The noise level is typically very loud.
