Job summary

North American Construction Group (NACG) is seeking Excavator Operators to work on a remote mining site at Fort McMurray, Canada. You must be highly organized with a strong safety focus and be prepared for 12-hour shifts on a 14x7 or 10x4 schedule.

Typical duties include operating various excavator models, reading stakes for grade, and maintaining safety standards. Union membership (OE955) is required, with comprehensive benefits after threshold hours and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience operating excavator.
• Minimum 3 years mining and/or civil experience.
• Minimum 3 years underground piping/ditch ing experience.
• Ability to cut and maintain grades and slopes.

Responsibilities

• Operate various sizes and models of excavators as required to complete assigned work.
• Read stakes and be able to place a grade as needed.
• Ensure compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies, operating standards and procedures.
• Using adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE.
• Reviewing safe work plans/ hazard assessment with prior to job commencement and follow all requirements.
• Complete equipment/ area walk-arounds, safety checks and field level risk assessments and ensure all equipment is running properly.
• Report any necessary or anticipated repairs to the maintenance team or supervisors immediately.
• Report all incidents, near misses or damage immediately.
