Job summary

Allan Myers is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our Mainline Pipe Crew or Mass Excavation Crew on heavy civil construction projects in Virginia. You will operate excavators, read plans, and work with crew supervisors to ensure safety and efficiency.

The role requires at least 3 years of experience, CDL is a plus, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Hourly pay ranges from $28.00 to $30.00, based on experience, with benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating excavators in heavy civil construction.
• Experience with mainline pipe installation or mass excavation is preferred.
• Proficiency with GPS machine control systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic excavators (e.g., Cat 330/336/349) for digging, trenching, and grading.
• Excavate for utility installations (water, sewer, storm drainage).
• Perform bulk earthmoving, slope work, and grading on large projects.
• Read and interpret construction plans, grade stakes, and laser levels.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation per company and OSHA standards.
• Conduct daily inspections and routine maintenance; report issues.
