Job summary

PURIS is seeking an Excavator Operator in Hyattsville, MD to perform trenchless pipe rehabilitation tasks under the direction of the Operations Manager. The role requires handling equipment safely, performing setup, and assisting with installations.

Responsibilities include operating excavators, skid-steer loaders, and related gear; delivering notices to residents; and adhering to standard operating procedures in a demanding field environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess and demonstrate proficiency in excavator operations and related tasks.
• Class 7B Operator license required.
• Ability to operate a skid-steer loader and use trenching equipment.

Responsibilities

• Checks and fuels vehicles and assists a mechanic with repairs on equipment.
• Sets up trench jacks and winches for operations.
• Distributes notices to residents and businesses as instructed.
• Repairs manholes and fuses pipe as needed.
• Installs liner, operates inverter, and cuts liner.
• Performs restoration and site cleanup after installation.
• Connects services and sets up equipment per SOPs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Operator will conduct all the daily activities associated with Trenchless pipe rehabilitation installation in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

• Checks and fuels vehicles and performs light mechanical adjustments and assists mechanic in performing repairs on assigned equipment.
• Sets up trench jacks
• Distributes notices to residents and businesses as instructed
• Repairs Manholes
• Fuses Pipe
• Sets up winches and connect hoses
• Assists with install of liner, operates inverter, cut liner
• Restoration and clean up
• Connects services
• Sets up equipment
• Utilizes all safety equipment and follow standard operating procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications:

• Incumbent must possess and demonstrate proficiency in the above responsibilities.
• Must demonstrate good communications and interaction skills.
• Must have the ability to operate a skid-steer loader.
• Must possess Class 7B Operators license.
• Must be accurate, detailed, reliable and able to follow orders on projects and tasks with minimal supervision.
• Must have ability to be proactive and trouble shoot.
• Solid understanding and knowledge of standard field pipe rehabilitation installation procedures.
• Must be able to work in extreme work environments, conditions and confined spaces. Position requires fit physical condition.
