Job summary

Insituform, a global leader in cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) solutions, is hiring an Excavator Operator in Lexington, KY. You will operate heavy equipment to install underground utilities at depths over 20 feet and contribute to safe, efficient project execution.

Starting pay ranges from $24.00 to $27.00 per hour depending on experience, with a limited-time sign-on bonus of $4,000 for CDL holders and additional bonuses for non-CDL hires.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' trenchless installation experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and near moving vehicles.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and wear respirator/harness when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety check-ups and notify supervisor of issues.
• Set up trench shoring systems for projects.
• Determine best approach for sewer, storm, water mains and force mains excavation.
• Follow Foreman/Superintendent directions and operate assigned equipment.
• Maintain clear communication with crew and supervisors.
• Operate excavator safely and effectively.
• Ensure high standards of quality and safety.
• Be versatile to handle other tasks as needed.

We are seeking an Excavator Operator in Lexington, KY. The Excavator Operator uses heavy equipment to install underground utilities to depths of greater than 20 feet.

We are currently offering a limited‑time sign‑on bonus of $4,000 for new hires with a valid CDL license, and sign‑on bonuses for new hires without a current CDL license are also available at a reduced amount. New employees who meet the criteria outlined in our sign‑on bonus program will be eligible for the full payout.

The starting pay is $24.00–$27.00 per hour depending on experience.

What You’ll Do

• Perform thorough check‑ups and safety sweeps of equipment, notifying the supervisor of any equipment concerns.
• Become a pro at setting up different trench shoring systems, adding your touch of expertise to every project.
• Determine the best way to tackle each project, whether it’s handling sewer systems, storm drains, water mains, or force mains (excavation may include high water environments).
• Follow the lead of your Foreman and Superintendent, using your assigned equipment to tackle tasks efficiently.
• Keep the lines of communication open and clear with your crew and supervisors.
• Operate excavator equipment while prioritizing safety and effectiveness.
• Keep an eye on every step of the operation to maintain our high standards of quality and safety.
• Be ready for anything else that comes your way – versatility is key in our dynamic environment.

What We Need From You

• Minimum of two years’ experience in trenchless installation, including boiler operation.
• A valid driver’s license required with clean motor vehicle report.
• Comfortable working in outside weather conditions at job sites with moving vehicles and mechanical operations, occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and moderate noise levels.
• Physical Demands: Regularly lift, push, pull and move up to 75 pounds. Use pneumatic, battery‑powered or electric tools. Must have the ability to wear a respirator and body harness while entering confined spaces.
