Job summary

Zachry Construction Corporation in Denton, TX is seeking a Dozer Operator to operate the tractor and blade to level soil, move rock and debris, and scoop soil. Starting pay is $19.00 per hour, with experience-based adjustments.

Roles require day, night, and weekend shifts on heavy highway projects. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of dozer experience on highway construction, familiarity with grade control systems, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of dozer experience on heavy highway road construction projects.
• Previous experience with grade control systems preferred.
• Knowledge of finishing roadways and reading construction plans, sketches, and blueprints.
• Physical ability to perform assigned labor-related tasks (climbing ladders, climbing in and out of ditches, prolonged physical exertions...).
• Physical ability to work in various conditions with exposure to weather elements.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently under the direction of the supervisor
• Follow all required company and general safety rules, policies, and guidelines
• Level the soil, move rock and debris to other locations on the job site, and scoop out soil
• Perform excavation of lime, flex base, and general sub-grade operations
• Recognize hazardous conditions and report them to the supervisor
• Communicate effectively with others using verbal and non-verbal hand signals while operating equipment
• Work days, nights, and weekends as required
• Perform other construction-related duties as assigned by the supervisor
