Job summary

United Ground Express is seeking personnel at Newark to perform aircraft cleaning, lavatory restocking, and daily equipment checks. The role requires reading, writing and speaking English fluently, and reliable communication with hub services teams.

You must be at least 18, able to pass clearances, and able to work varying shifts, including nights and holidays. Employees receive competitive wages, earned paid time off, and travel discounts for you and your immediate family.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or preferred.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to operate a computer/tablet to enter and retrieve data.
• Must be able to perform physical activities including bending, stooping, climbing, and working in tight spaces.
• Must be able to work day and night shifts, weekends and holidays; overtime may be required based on operational need.
• Eligibility to obtain necessary credentials (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs) per local requirements.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Remove all trash from aircraft and clean/restock lavatories and magazines.
• Clean aircraft interior areas including galley, seats, seat back pockets, and tray tables.
• Complete Daily Equipment Checks and associated checklists, including security searches.
• Use personal protective equipment, including a face shield & hearing protection.
• Maintain professional working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, managers, airline employees, and airport authorities.
• Ensure the operation functions in a safe, caring, dependable and efficient manner at all times.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.
• Effectively communicate with all hub services agents.

• Must be willing and able to perform a variety of physical activities including, bending, stooping, climbing, and working in tight spaces
• Must be able to be alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment
• Must be able to read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags
• Eligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal) per local requirements
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Must be able to work during day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays; mandatory overtime may be required based on operational need
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
