Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, GA seeks an EWIS Engineering Group Head II to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team responsible for EWIS programs, schedules, and budgets, applying mature engineering judgment. The role requires extensive experience with EWIS criteria, Catia V5, CHS, and documentation per AC 43.13B and MIL specs, plus strong supervisory skills.

You will direct project objectives, brief executives, and coordinate with internal and external customers to deliver complex EWIS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 13 years Engineering experience.
  • 8 years specific technical discipline.
  • Experience credit for related advanced degrees limited to 2 yrs with Masters and 4 yrs with PhD.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and administers organizational unit schedules, tasks, and deliverables, sets performance requirements, estimates work scopes, ensures quality of delivered product, and monitors budget performance.
  • Manages directly, or through subordinates, employees that perform similar or related tasks; conducts performance appraisals and salary management.
  • Establishes objectives that support short and long term goals.
  • Conducts briefings for senior level management and technical meetings for internal/external contacts and customers.
  • Advises subordinate supervisors to meet schedules and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Directly participates in functional projects; lead a cooperative effort among project team.
  • Interprets, executes, and modifies organizational policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job description

EWIS Engineering Group Head IIin GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
  • In addition to having previous program and project management experience with personnel, schedules, and budgets.
  • Candidate must have extensive knowledge of EWIS component selection criteria
  • Extensive experience with Mentor Graphics Capital Harness System (CHS) - Tools or similar toolset and process development experience.
  • In depth knowledge of electrical harness installation and design guidance documentation (AC 43.13B, SAE AS50881, AC1701-1)
  • In-depth knowledge of FAR 25 sub part H and previous amendment level design requirements
  • Demonstrated performance in a prior EWIS project
  • Knowledge of EWIS component qualification requirements and documentation (EIA 364, MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-DTL-50151)
  • Extensive knowledge of EWIS installation criteria
  • Extensive experience withCatia V5, Electrical Workbenches- Tools and process development experience.

Position Purpose:

Leads a multi-disciplined group of engineering employees with diverse skills. Utilizing creative and mature engineering judgment, manages complex engineering problems by directing subordinate employees. Determines program objectives and requirements, organizes and estimates work scope of programs and projects.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:

  2. Manages directly, or through subordinates, employees that perform similar or related tasks; establishes performance expectations, conducts performance appraisals, salary management, and participates in development, training, and counseling of employees.
  3. Responsible for establishing and executing objectives that support both short and long term goals.
  4. Conducts briefings for senior level management and conducts technical meetings for internal/external contacts and customers.
  5. Acts as an advisor to subordinate supervisors or staff members to meet schedules and resolve complex technical or operational problems..
  6. Directly participates in functional projects; must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.

  1. Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to organizational policies..
